The Healthcare Training Institute maintains responsibility for this program and its content. The instructional level of the learning activities within our courses is at the advanced level.
Counselor & Marriage and Family Therapist: These Courses
meet the requirements for an acceptable Program as defined by the Boards listed
below due to our American Psychological Association (APA, #1537) and Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB, #1073) provider status or individual state approval provider status. The HTI continuing education and related services and programs currently are not approved for credit by NBCC. AL-Psy: The Alabama Board of Examiners in Psychology
at (334) 242-4127 accepts these Home-study and On-line Courses for purposes of
psychologist licensure renewal. The Healthcare Training Institute is approved
by the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists.
“The continuing education requirement for licensure renewal for psychologists
is 20 hours per year." The deadline for submitting continuing education hours
is annually on September 30th. AL-SW: Alabama State Board of Social Work
Examiners at (334) 242-5860 has approved the Healthcare Training Institute
as a provider of Continuing Education for Social Workers. The Board accepts Contact
Hours of Continuing Education for these Audio Home Study Courses for purposes
of Social Work licensure renewal. Up to 20 Contact Hours of home study credit
are accepted by the AL Board for each two year renewal cycle. A total of 30 Contact
Hours are required. These hours are accepted because the Healthcare Training
Institute is an approved provider for social work education by the AL Bd provider

40 hours of continuing education are required every 2 years. 20 of these hours
may be earned in home study courses. 3 hours of Ethics must be included in each

The Alaska Board of Clinical and Social Work Examiners at (907) 465-2551 requires 45 contact hours of CE every even year. 3 hours must be in Ethics, 6 in Substance Abuse, 6 in Cross-Cultural Education, 3 of which need to deal with Alaskan Natives. For first time renewal, 6 hours of Alaskan Native Education is required. 45 hours of our home study Courses are accepted by the Alaska Board due to our ASWB providership. The AZ Board accepts these home study Courses due to ASWB, APA, and NAADAC providerships. Deadline: Individual. AZ-Psy: The Arizona Board of Psychologist Examiners at (602) 542-8162 states that licensees are required to complete 40 CE hours from Category 1; as well as 20 CE hrs. from Categories 1 or 2 for a total of 60 CE hrs. Of the 40 hrs. in Category 1, there are two special subject requirements: 4 hrs. in Ethics and 4 hrs. in either Child Abuse or Domestic Violence. The Healthcare Training Institute is approved by the American Psychological Association to offer CE for psychologists (#1537). Since home study is accepted as Category-I, all 60 CE hours are accepted as home study. See our Child Abuse and Domestic Violence courses. Deadline: April 30th. The Arkansas Board of Examiners in Psychology at (501) 682-6167 requires 40 hours of CE activity during the previous biennium for the purposes of psychologist licensure renewal. The AR Board accepts our home study due to the fact that the Healthcare Training Institute offers an examination to evaluate completion of the course as well as a certificate of completion. Thus, 40 hours of home study are accepted due to APA providership. Deadline: December 31st AR-SW: The Arkansas Social Work Licensing Board- These Audio Home Study Courses meet the Arkansas Social Work Licensing Board definition of an acceptable Continuing Education offering. These CE Hours apply toward relicensure for Licensed Social Workers (LSW), Licensed Master Social Workers, (LMSW), and Licensed Certified Social Workers (LCSW). Up to 20 Hours of Home Study may be applied toward Social Work relicensure in a two-year period. Thus, the MD Board accepts up to 16 CEUs of home study due to APA providership. Deadline: December 31st MD-SW: The Maryland Department of Health & Mental Hygiene
at (410) 764-4788 requires the completion of 40 (30 for LSWA’s) CE units for social work licensure renewal. A minimum of 3 continuing education units are required in Ethics, including Boundary Issues. (See our Ethics and Boundaries courses.) The MD Board will accept 20 hours (15 for LSWA’s) of home study as “Category II” hours due to ASWB providership. Category I credit is defined as being offered by a MA Board-recognized entity and is equivalent to a seminar. The Healthcare Training Institute, provider #1073, is a provider of Approved Continuing Education (ACE) by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB). LICSW-30, LCSW-20, LSW-15, LSWA-10 credits are required every 2 years. Psychology licensure renewal. The Healthcare Training Institute is approved by
the American Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists.

CEHs obtained through HTI are subject to approval by the MS Board at the time of renewal. Our presenter is “at master’s level or above and trained in the mental health field or related services.” Thus, all 24 CEHs can be earned through our home study courses as we meet the Guidelines of a non pre-approved program... a certified instructor, stating clear learning objectives, and issuing a certificate of completion. 20 clock hrs. of CE are required for Psychologist licensure renewal every 2 years
due June 30 of odd years. A minimum of 2 clock hrs. must be in Ethics. MS-MFT: The Mississippi Board of Examiners for Social Workers and Marriage and Family Therapy at (601) 987-6806 states in their regulations regarding Marriage and Family Therapists: 35 hours of continuing education hours are required for Marriage and Family Therapists every 2 years. Regarding home study, the regulations state, "Independent Study - A maximum of 17.5 of the 35 hours may be acquired through approved independent study activities related to marriage and family therapy. Continuing education hours in ethics cannot be obtained through any form of independent study. Acceptable independent activities include: d. Independent study earned through home study programs designed by accredited colleges/universities and approved providers." However, at this time the Healthcare Training Institute has not submitted an application to be an "approved provider," so continuing education hours earned from this site will not be accepted by the MS Board for MFTs. _________________________________________________________Top MO-A: The Missouri Compulsive Gambling Program Division of Alcohol & Drug Abuse at (573) 751-8104 requires 34 hours of CE, 14 hours on Gambling.
